Recycled T-Shirt Bag

I made this no sew bag from an illfitted T-Shirt lying around the house. I referred to this tutorial online for step-by-step guide.

Making such bags is not time consuming and just needs basics skills. Also its a great bag for carrying groceries and library books.

I am still trying to upload a closer pic of the bag filled with goods:(

Happy crafting !

Embroidery Patterns: - Blast from the Past - 4

Continuing with the previous post....The borrowed designs taught me to create my own designs suitable for various crafts.
Like the old crafting ladies , even I tend to guard my designs very zealously.
But now I wish to be generous and share my collection with other craft lovers.

Hoping these might inspire other new crafters to enhance their skills as it happened to me!

Please email me or leave me a comment with your email address if you wish to get a copy of these designs for personal use.

Please do not use my drawings for any commercial purposes without my written consent.

Embroidery Patterns - Blast from the past -2

 Hello Friends

Here are some more of my old collections. These designs are best suited for embroidery work on tea towels, pillow covers and tablecloths.

I used these drawings for collage greeting cards and have also created a cutout decorated with coloured gelatine paper to make a lampshade

Embroidery Patterns- Blast from the Past 1

Hello Friends!

I have managed to scan my design book which I started in 1996. Sorry for such a bad scanning job.. but the book is in fragile stage and can no longer take the extra handling of the scanning process. I thought leaving the scanned images as is will give them the retro look which these well overused pictures truly deserve!

These images are very close to my heart b'coz each one has a story about how I manage to get these designs from the neighbouring crafting ladies; who guarded their designs very jealously and needed a lot of persuasion before they agree to share !
I have spent many school holidays using these designs and collecting more for fabric painting, embroidering tablecloths and making greetings cards . These designs also gave me inspirations to make my own patterns and explore more creative skills.
Its difficult to believe but this was time when there was no Google to help me find more designs and teach me the crafting skills through YouTube (long live the Internet!)My current designs don't have any story to tell but just a web page link :|

Knitted Collar Vest - Toddler

Hello Knitters

One more project created by my Mum for our toddler S. Yes I am getting ready for winter of 2012, and making the most of my Mum's stay in OZ.

Materials used:
  • Pure Wool - 2 balls (100gms) 8ply
  • Knitting Needles - size 6
  • Woollen needle
  • Wooden Buttons
  • Crochet needle

Time: Its difficult to give exact time limit as it was ON/OFF project for mum

Process: (Note: Detailed process is too intricate, hence highlight of the process is mentioned below. If you are a beginner knitter and need more help please feel free to ask your questions in comments section or email me)
  1. This vest is knitted as one piece uptil chest and then is divided in to three parts to form the armholes.
  2. Plain knitting is used as the wool was too thick to suit any patterns
  3. The border on both edges was created as add on feature by picking up the stitches in horizontal line.
  4. The collar was created after the border by picking up stiched from the neckline and borders in vertical line
  5. Wooden button were attached on both sides of the borders
  6. Loops were created using crochet chains and attache to the buttons on one edge
open - flat look

inside out

Happy Knitting
