Wall Painting - Upgrading the room

Hello Crafters

I am sharing my old wall painting which is breathing its last breath and soon will disappear behind a fresh coat of paint.
I painted this grapevine border in our Living room wall to spruce up the plain beige colour wall (2006). I made stencil of the grape bunch using a carbon paper on the wall and then painted each stencil with pearl acrylic colours. It was a perfect summer project for me.

Sorry for the bad photos, but I never actually thought of taking photos of my art work until I started Blogging and Pinning :P ... so the current state of this painting is not so good, due to daily wear and tear.

The border served dual purpose, it made the room look elegant and also ensured that chairs are not pushed (rubbed) against the wall which gives permanent black scratches. My in-laws were very impressed to see this art work and asked me to make similar one at their place :)

FACEBOOK Update

Dear Readers,

Many of my facebook followers are not seeing my updates in news feed often. On my research I found out the Facebook has some alterations done, so one now needs to select the option of getting news feed for each page likes (a lot of work if one likes around 100+ pages already)
Please follow the following steps to ensure you get regular updates in your news feed:

1) Click the above picture which will direct you to the Blog FB Page
2) Hover the mouse over the 'Liked' button and it will open up the options tab (as shown above)
3) Make sure the 'Show in the News Feed' option is ticked

Voila! and you are done.

Happy Crafting!

Candlemaking

I tried candle making in 2006... Here are my first creations.
I was gifted a candle making kit. Hence they are Christmas themed designs.

I didn't quiet enjoy the whole process and decided not to pursue this art further...

Just thought of sharing it anyway.
Have you ever tried a hobby and decided not to pursue it? What were your reasons?

Water Colour Painting

This one more of my old craft work something I painted in 1999.

I submitted this water colour painting of an Indian Potter in international school painting competition. The competition is held in all secondary schools across commonwealth countries. ChitralilaNiketan Kala Mahavidhyalaya coordinates all the paintings from our state which are scrutinised and sent to various countries for display I did not win any prizes but my painting was sent to London for display for a year.

The aim of the painting competition was for students to paint a picture inspired by their everyday life and surroundings. I did my school from small town in India, so there was a small potter family living near my school. The family's daily routine revolved around their small pottery business. So I was inspired to share this scene , knowing that if the painting goes to other country then I would be sharing a unique experience with them.

Do let me know your views about it. Its been ages I haven't done any water colour painting.... should give it a try again.

Stain Glass Painting - Window Pane project

One more stained glass work created while discovering the new medium of painting which I learnt from celene deco art products in India.
I removed the glass  from the kicthen window pane and painted it with abstract painting. I experimented using copper colour instead of black liner for drawing all the elements. I used frosting paint and opaque jelly (can't remember its correct name, but it looks like hairstyling jel that hardens after applying and gives a textured effect)

I also added dash of glitter on wet paint to glam it up a bit!

My mum loves this painting as it creates colourful shadows in the kitchen when the sun in the east rises and sunshine seeps through the window. It reminds her of me and makes her day start with vibrant mood... ( I learnt this when I asked her if I can clean the window pane and make something else on it.. in my recent trip to India)
Have you upgraded your window's recently, share your ideas by dropping a link in comment box..
