FAQs

1.       How many products can we upload?

A: There is no limit for number of products; however The Craft Gallery reserves the right to choose the product to maintain uniqueness and quality.

2.       How many pictures for each product can we upload?

A: Again no limit, however, we recommend a maximum of 5 pictures per product.

3.       How is the commission calculated?

A: Commission is calculated based on the base price of the product. E.g. a 10 variety greeting card Packet is considered as 1 product. If it’s base price is $15, then we charge $1.5 as our selling commission. (In addition to the upload service charge)

Note: We DO NOT calculate our commission based on price including postage.

A: We calculate postage based on weight and charge as per Australia Post policy. We advise you to do the same. Let us know the (approx.) postage for your product.

5.       How about shipping overseas

A: Again, we recommend Australia Post for overseas shipping. We generally advise buyers of the shipping charges up-front.

Baby Girl Frock Parchment Pattern

Hello Readers !

Today I am sharing one of my old parchment project. I was newly introduced to parchment world and did this project without any guidance.

I I gifted it to my aunt who had her first baby in Jan 2004. She loved and till date it is proudly displayed at her place her in Pune, India.

Recently I asked aunt to click some photos for my blog. I really appreciate her efforts in sending me these pics (though she's not a computer literate)

Materials Used:
  • Plain white vellum paper
  • Dorso Colours
  • Dorso Oil
  • one point needle
  • Embossing Pen (small and medium size)
  • Card Stock for framing

I enlarged one of Martha Ospina's Baby frock pattern and inked it on Vellum paper. I did not have a diamond shape needle tool , so I used one point needle for the net effect in between. (I did not like the outcome, but was too late). I tried adding dorso effect to the frock, but think its bit overdone at some patches.

I Used dark green colour card stock for background and framed it between two glass sheets which added the grace to the final product.

What are the latest projects you are working on?

Happy Crafting!!

Parchment Fairies - Sesonal Greeting Cards

Dear crafters,

I sharing my 3D Parchment Flower Fairy cards. I used matching floral printed vellum paper for background in each cutouts. I embossed few important elements of the floral vellum paper to add further effect to the cards.

The flower fairies are printed on one sheet of A4 parchment which are embossed and cut out. I use perga glue to stick the fairies on cards, so the embossing is not suppressed or damaged.

Parchment Greeting Cards

Sharing some of my parchment cards. I used some floral designs on spare parchment scraps. I painted the flowers with parchment ink and embossed all the design.
Then I perforated the outline and cutout the design. Made small cards with some plain card stock and attached the floral design with double sided duct tape.

Following two cards are made from Martha Ospina's design book. I applied some lace to give a personal touch to the candles card.

This is perfect baby announcement card. I painted the card and did small embroidery through the four punch holes to add a personal touch.
See the closeup pictures for further details.

Parchment Fan - Wall Decor

Hello Parchment Lovers,

Since I learnt Parchment craft, I made few projects of my own. This fan was my first solo project and I am very happy with the way it turned out.

The lady who taught me the Parchment art gave me some free patterns for various projects. So I used the rose panel to make this fan.

It took me longer to finish this project due to its intricate details and a lace pattern.

I created variation of this pattern by painting the roses and lace and gifted it to my sister in law a wedding present. Also the size of fan was bit small which suited well to the design.

Hello All,

I feel pride in sharing my first project in Parchment that magnetized my attention onto this incredible art! I feel pride in working on such contemporary craft gallery art work and looking forward to work extensively on this!

The above shown pattern is taken from very famous Martha Ospina's book and is listed in various popular craft galleries!

The best part of these contemporary craft pieces is the easy to create and one can craft amazingly beautiful and incredible designs by utilizing just vellum paper. Interestingly, there are numerous products can be crafted such as gift box, gift purses, lamp shades and greeting cards etc. All such gift packages can be created by using vellum paper which simply means it is extremely economical. Indeed, these kinds of projects are kept at craft galleries and are popular among art & craft lovers.

Undoubtedly, during the early 2000s the products for making such contemporary crafts were not only expensive but quite hard to create too. The white vellum paper was cheaper to replenish more often, but replenishing perga inks, paints and oils were bit expensive. This is the reason that only contemporary art center and other craft galleries were the only source to admire such art pieces.

In order to acquire best results for minimum cost, I tested many techniques on behalf of The Craft Gallery. By trial and error, I also found better and cheaper options of paints and oils to complete more projects. This successful process of finding new materials for completing new art was firsthand experience for me. This cheap alternative helped me to polish my skills of painting and creating dorso effects.

If you are looking for modern art and craft pieces, make sure to consider The Craft Gallery. These art pieces are gaining immense popularity in India as well. It is mainly due to the affordability of contemporary crafts materials in India.

If someone has had similar experience of such art pieces at fine craft gallery, museum or individually, exhibit your interest in the Comments section!

Since moving to Australia I started using the normal pergamano range for all my creations.

Materials Used:
2 A4 sized White Parchment Paper

Perga Ink

Perga Liner

Embossing Ball tool

4 point needle

Pergamano Scissors

Time: I completed this fan in five days. (worked 2 hours each day on the project)

If you are looking to imbibe such beautiful parchment art to decor your home or to give as unique gift to your friends, look nothing but The Craft Gallery! I would be glad to create various types of fan in various sizes at affordable price.

Happy Crafting
