Crochet A-line Jumper - 12 months girl

 Hello lovely readers,

I made this cute A-line dress for my niece. I was going to see her first time on my recent trip to India, so decided to make something special for her.

I came across this Crochet pattern on Pinterest!The pattern is available for free on Barnet website. I have not tried making the beautiful matching hat as mentioned in the pattern yet. Winter's are not so cold in Western India, so decided not to gift the hat.

My Niece is still 6 months old, but I made the dress for winter 2012 when she will be 12 months old. 
It took me 2 weeks to crochet this dress working 1-2 hours everyday. The pattern is not written well and needs a lot of readjustments. Like it says 3dc and 1sc which doesn't work. it should be 3sc in one chain and 1sc to make the work more soft and wearable.

Also the thickness of the belts was too much compared to the narrow body work. The button flowers mentioned in the pattern are also too bulky for the narrow body structure. So I made smaller flowers with different pattern to suit the overall look.

The instructions mentioned for the upper body part are not easy to follow , so I altered them at some places to make it more easy. 

My Sister-in-law loved the dress I made for her first child. I am looking forward to share a photo of my niece wearing this pretty dress, in coming months.

Summer Indian Dress - Toddler

 Hello Crafters,

My mum made this cute summer Indian dress for Little "S"

Its sleeveless Punjabi dress (North Indian dress) made of pure cotton.

 

I would like to tell you a little secret about this dress ( its made from my Old Punjabi dress Salwar) Yeah I was bored of wearing this punjabi dress , so decided to upscale it. 

Using only the salwar (pants) of my dress this whole costume could be made.Plus our little one liked it too...

Dance Party - Handmade Theme Decorations ( new photos added)

Our little one just turned two and we had a dance theme party for her!  

I was keen to make decorations and invitation card unique and handmade this time. Last year I could only manage to make invitation at home and print them on fancy scrapbook paper and send them by post. 
So this time I am trying to be more creative as my little girl just loves colours and decorations.

Hand painted magic bottles

 So I did some pinning and found some cool projects to do which would be apt for my theme party.

Magic Bottle: I painted the spice jars with some multicoloured glow paint to make my own version of magic bottle. I decided to keep the dots big and colourful to match the theme, once shown on the link above would be good for bit older kids. 

I also filled up these magic glow bottles with some colourful fruit lollies and included a small thank you note.

Pompoms

Pompoms: Recently one can see pompom and bunting being used in very store window decor and lifestyle magazines. So obviously I had to include it in my party as its the hep thing to do! Buying ready made pompom on eBay was proving bit costly ($15 each, which I was then suppose to fan out and make it look round) So decided to do try it on my own, found this helpful tutorial and followed it through to achieve great results. I made 12 pompoms of six different colours.

 Bunting: I had to make cool buntings to go with all the other props. Australia unfortunately doesn't have wide range of variety when it comes to decorations. Up market stores have variety, but it comes with hefty price tag, which I would like to avoid. 
So I searched for free printable designs online and printed them on A4 paper and cut out the triangles of various sizes to make this pretty unique bunting.

 On the party day all the party props just matched well together and made the space look very cheerful and happy. A perfect dance floor for my little girl! 

Return gifts - Magic bottles with fruit lollies

All the guests noticed the colourful decor and little kids even asked for the pompoms to take home for their own rooms... that made all my efforts of preplanned decoration worthwhile!

Upcycled Craft - Sweater Tote Bag

I have recently turned in to a true PINTEREST  :)... Checking out the new cute photos on the PINTEREST site is my new addiction (after facebook) ...and I have got the bug of making every article from the free tutorials it offers!

This is the Sweater bag I made from the tutorials posted on the site 

I loved the clear instructions written in the tutorial  and also wanted to do something different with my old sweater other than (hand mittens and phone covers and heat bags) 

I also recycled the wooden handles of the old rattan bag sold at Op Shop for $2.00.

I feel pride in sharing my first project in Parchment that magnetized my attention onto this incredible art! I feel pride in working on such contemporary craft gallery art work and looking forward to work extensively on this!

The above shown pattern is taken from very famous Martha Ospina's book and is listed in various popular craft galleries!

Pergamano Parchment Craft (Step By Step Crafts)

The best part of these contemporary craft pieces is the easy to create and one can craft amazingly beautiful and incredible designs by utilizing just vellum paper. Interestingly, there are numerous products can be crafted such as gift box, gift purses, lamp shades and greeting cards etc. All such gift packages can be created by using vellum paper which simply means it is extremely economical.
