Pressed Flowers - Greeting Cards - Part 3

Hello Lovely People,
Third and final post of the series. Presenting some more pressed flower greeting cards.
Even a small twig of the weed can be made splendid looking by this art. This art makes you appreciate all the samll wonders of nature. Moths can look hideous and have very waxy thick wings from outside, but the flipsides are very beautiful and can be restyled in this art.
I would highly recommend teaching this art to 4-5 year old kids, best fun and learn activity.

HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE  SERIES.

Happy Crafting!

Pressed Flowers - Greeting Cards - Part 2

Hello Readers,

This is the second post in the series of Pressed Flower Art.

All of these cards were made by my Dad. I loved the way he used peacock feathers to create an effect of tree and the way the hut and far away mountains add prespective to the design.

Also I like the way his cards are more elegant with the beautiful strokes of stems and twigs in his cards.

What did you like most about this art ?

Pressed Flowers - Greeting Cards - Part 1

Hello Readers,

I am sharing some of my flower pressed greeting cards in three series over the few weeks.

I learnt this art from my father, in 1994-95. He was gifted artist, he was great at painting portraits and nature. He loved pressing flowers and collecting dead butterflies and moths most of his life. So I always had collection of dried flowers and butterflies to make these beautiful greetings.

Some of the cards were also made by him, which I would love to preserve for rest of my life. I have laminated all the cards so the butterflies and flower petals don't fade and are safe to carry through customs office in Australia.

Enjoy these collections..... in coming weeks

Wall Painting - Upgrading the room

Hello Crafters

I am sharing my old wall painting which is breathing its last breath and soon will disappear behind a fresh coat of paint.
I painted this grapevine border in our Living room wall to spruce up the plain beige colour wall (2006). I made stencil of the grape bunch using a carbon paper on the wall and then painted each stencil with pearl acrylic colours. It was a perfect summer project for me.

Sorry for the bad photos, but I never actually thought of taking photos of my art work until I started Blogging and Pinning :P ... so the current state of this painting is not so good, due to daily wear and tear.

The border served dual purpose, it made the room look elegant and also ensured that chairs are not pushed (rubbed) against the wall which gives permanent black scratches. My in-laws were very impressed to see this art work and asked me to make similar one at their place :)

Have you updated your walls with any personal touches?

Happy Painting!

Dear Readers,

Many of my facebook followers are not seeing my updates in news feed often. On my research I found out the Facebook has some alterations done, so one now needs to select the option of getting news feed for each page likes (a lot of work if one likes around 100+ pages already)
Please follow the following steps to ensure you get regular updates in your news feed:

1) Click the above picture which will direct you to the Blog FB Page
2) Hover the mouse over the 'Liked' button and it will open up the options tab (as shown above)
3) Make sure the 'Show in the News Feed' option is ticked

Voila! and you are done.

Candlemaking

I tried candle making in 2006... Here are my first creations.
I was gifted a candle making kit. Hence they are Christmas themed designs.

I didn't quiet enjoy the whole process and decided not to pursue this art further...

Just thought of sharing it anyway.
Have you ever tried a hobby and decided not to pursue it? What were your reasons?
